The School of Social Work is located on Barry University 's main campus in north Miami-Dade County, Florida. Barry's peaceful Miami Shores Campus is conveniently located close to major interstates and just minutes from beautiful South Florida beaches.

At the Miami Shores location, you may enroll in our full-time, 60-credit Master of Social Work (MSW) program or our part-time, 60-credit MSW program, starting in either the fall or spring semesters.

If you already hold a Bachelor of Social Work, you can enroll in our Miami Shores' Advanced Standing MSW program. You can begin this 32-credit program in the fall, spring or summer semester. This program is offered on both a full- and part-time basis. Classes are offered day and evening, with an occasional Saturday workshop format elective.

Palm Beach/Treasure Coast

This location provides you with greater accessibility if you reside in Palm Beach, Martin, or St. Lucie county. Classes are held on Saturdays and the same professors teach at both sites (Miami Shores and Palm Beach / Treasure Coast).

Two programs are offered at this site:

•  A 60-credit, part-time MSW program for individuals holding a degree in an area other than social work and

•  An Advanced Standing, 32-credit, part-time program for individuals with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

Our continued commitment to serving communities throughout Florida and beyond has allowed us to expand the delivery of our MSW Program to the Fort Myers area!

  • Beginning in the fall 2011 semester, the 60 credits MSW program is delivered in 7 semesters, with classes held each Saturday. 
  • Beginning in the fall 2012, the 32 credits MSW program will be delivered in 4 semesters, with classes held each Saturday.  
  • Program completed at an accelerated pace with 12-week semesters
  • There will be a week break at midterm and a week break prior to the end of the semester to allow students additional time to complete course and field education requirements.
