Applications will be given full consideration when your official transcripts are received. All transcripts that are provided to the University must be official in order for your application to be properly processed. In order for transcripts to be considered official they must be sealed by the institution that issued them. If your transcripts are in your possession, you must submit them in to the Office of Admissions in an official envelope sealed by the institution issuing the transcripts.
You may want to check the web sites of the colleges/universities you previously attended to see if you can request a transcript online.
MSW Applicants: Your transcript must show your degree was earned from a regionally accredited institution (domestic) or a listed institution (international).
Advanced Standing MSW Applicants: Your transcript must show that you hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. You must also have received this degree no more than five years prior to enrolling at Barry University.
Applicants with transcripts from Colleges and Universities outside of the United States: Transcripts that are received from foreign colleges/ universities which are in a language other than English must be translated by an official translation agency. You must arrange for the translation. You are also required to present an evaluation of coursework from an official transcript evaluation service along with your transcript. This evaluation must be sealed by the issuing agency in order to be considered official.
Barry Students or Alumna: If you are a Barry alumna or a current student, you do not need to request transcripts.
All applicants currently enrolled in a college/university degree program must submit an official copy of your final transcript verifying your graduation date before you can officially enroll in the MSW program.
