Dr. Sharron M. Singleton joined Barry University’s School of Social work in the fall of 1993. She teaches in the human behavior, research, and direct methods of practice sequences with a specialization in the psychopathology, aging, women, and crisis intervention courses/electives. Dr. Singleton also taught/teaches in the BSW, MSW, and PhD programs.
Her research and practice interests generally revolve around medical and psychiatric social work, gerontology, ethnic identity, research, and practice with vulnerable populations, professional gatekeeping and student learning, and community capacity building.
Dr. Singleton provides ongoing consultation and training to the professional community through her connections with NASW and a number of other professional connections.
