OAK RIDGE, Tenn. -- Barry's varsity 8+ rowing crew finished eighth overall in the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships regatta Sunday.

The Buccaneers team of coxswain Grace Horwitz, stroke Kristina Boncheva, Kelly Harrison, Renee Forcier, Helene Pierre, Courtney Greene, Kasia Walentynowicz, Mandy Carper and bow Samantha McKenzie turned in a time of 6:54.38 in the Petite Final. Central Oklahoma won the Petite race in 6:49.80.

Barry did not compete in the varsity 4 competition over the two-day regatta.

Florida Tech was third in the Petite Final in 6:54.88, finishing a half-second behind the Buccaneers. Oklahoma City fourth in 6:56.83.

Grand Valley State won the Grand Final in 6:32.20. George Washington was second in 6:34.97 and Purdue third in 6:38.89.

The Buccaneers will compete in the Sunshine State Conference Championships Saturday at Canal 54 in Fellsmere, Fla.
