Hosted by the Office of Mission Engagement, Human Resources, and the Quality Improvement Program (QIP) Committee

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

The 2013 Barry CARES Professional Development Conference is centered on Building Campus Community as defined by Ernest Boyer (1990) who felt that a college or university community should be purposeful, open, just, disciplined, caring and celebrative.

Presentation proposals should be consistent with the conference theme of Building Campus Community and align with the Mission, Core Commitments, and Strategic Agenda goals of the University.  Selected proposals will also highlight Barry University’s goals to achieve service excellence through the Barry CARES Principles of service as we build community:

  • Leadership
  • Innovation
  • Collaboration
  • Communication
  • Professionalism

Each 50 minute session should allow for 20 minutes of presentation, 20 minutes for hands-on activities, and 10 minutes for session recap. Each session should include dynamic interaction with conference participants. Proposals should consist of (1) Skill area and presentation goal, (2) a 250-word content abstract, (3) description of workshop activity (4) presenter contact information (5) Room setup requirements (6) audiovisual needs, and (7) a 100-word presentation summary for the program.

Note: If selected, you will be scheduled to facilitate your workshop for two sessions: 

  • 10:50 am – 11:40 am
  • 1:10 pm – 2:00 pm
