Barry University women's tennis team opens the fall season Friday at the ITA Regional in Pensacola, Fla.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis team opens its fall season Friday at the four-day ITA South Region Championships in Pensacola, Fla. Follow the tournament HERE.

Four Buccaneer players will compete in the individual tournament hosted by the University of West Florida. Junior Linda Fritschken and sophomores Emma Onila, Elisabeth Abanda and Karina Goia are scheduled to play in the singles and doubles events. ITA rules allow for a maximum of only four players from each school to compete.

Barry's players are scheduled to play in the Varner Invitational in Winter Park, Fla., and Clemson's Duckworth Family Fall Classic Oct. 4-6, with different athletes headed to the separate sites. The Bucs will also play in the Miami Fall Invite Oct. 11-13 in Coral Gables, and at the Florida International University tournament Nov. 1-3.

The fall season is geared to individual competition, and is not scored for team purposes. Team competition begins in the spring season in February.
