Executive Leadership Forum presents Alexandra Villoch

The D. Inez Andreas School of Business invites the Barry community to the ninth lecture in the Executive Leadership Forum featuring Ms. Alexandra Villoch, Senior Vice President of Advertising and Marketing for the Miami Herald Media Company, for a conversation on “How Vigilant Leadership Can Help You Connect the Dots.”

The Executive Leadership Forum was created to serve as a venue for sharing practical business knowledge. Select leaders from the business community are invited to engage in a dialogue regarding their perspectives on leadership and the everyday challenges they face.

About the speaker:

Alexandra (Alex) Villoch is currently the Sr. Vice President of Advertising & Marketing for the Miami Herald Media Company.  In this capacity, she is responsible for leading and developing sales and advertising strategies across all product lines as well as spearheading the company’s marketing efforts. She is also responsible for heading HCP/Aboard, a custom publishing company owned by the Miami Herald Media Company, which produces 36 different books and publications with over 115 editions. 

Prior to joining the Miami Herald, she was the General Manager for Miami International Airport & the Caribbean for United Airlines, with responsibility over all passenger and cargo operations, sales functions, and government relations.  She previously was the Vice President of Strategic & Financial Planning for Southeast Bank, and prior to that, she spent ten years with Eastern Airlines in a variety of positions, including Director of Financial Planning and Director / Controller of International Operations.

In addition to her strong work ethic and diverse professional background, Ms. Villoch has a genuine commitment to the community. She has served as a past-Chair of Miami-Dade County’s economic development agency, The Beacon Council, and is Chair Emeritus of the One Community One Goal Initiative—a Targeted Industry Study for Miami-Dade County of The Beacon Council.

Furthermore, she served as a past-Chair of Big Brothers and Big Sisters Board of Miami-Dade, Chaired  the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Initiative, was a board member for the National Welfare to Work Partnership, Chaired the Transportation Committee and of the Audit and Finance Committee for WAGES Coalition—Miami-Dade County’s Public/Private Welfare to Work Partnership—and was the President of the Airline Management Council. Currently, she is on the Board of Governors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Miami Dade College Foundation, and is on the board of the Center for Leadership at FIU.

In addition to receiving the 2012 International Economic Development Council’s Citizen Leadership Award, which nationally recognizes community and business leaders who play a key leadership role in economic development in their community, Ms. Villoch has received numerous awards, including the 2011 Red Cross Spectrum Ambassador Award, the 2011 Business Leaders Media Women Extraordinaire, the 2006 Angels of Mercy Award, The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce 2007 Businesswoman of the Year Award, and several others.

Ms. Villoch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami and currently resides in the city of Coral Gables with her husband.
