Dear Members of the Barry Community,
As part of this year’s Founders’ Week celebration, I invite you and our students to several opportunities to engage with our Distinguished Lecturer, Sister Corinne Sanders, OP, EdD, who serves on the leadership team for the Adrian Dominican Sisters. A Barry University alumna, class of ’86, Sister Corinne earned her doctorate from the University of San Francisco in Education, Organization and Leadership. Her Founders’ Week Lecture entitled We Go, We Travel Constantly: Our Life in Mission will explore the call for mission-driven leadership as we prepare to uphold the legacy and vision of our Adrian Dominican Sisters.
Please join our colleagues for the following opportunities:
|Tuesday, November 12, 2013|
|9:00 a.m.||Refreshments||Broad Auditorium|
|9:30- 11:00 a.m.||Distinguished Lecture followed by Q & A|
|1:00 p.m.||Roundtable Discussion /light lunch|
Barry University students will facilitate discussions on their view of leadership as it relates to our University’s Core Commitments.
As in years past, I ask for your help in promoting this event to the Barry community as we all work to understand Catholic Higher Education and its mission. Please use creative measures to encourage class and student participation regarding leadership. Reflection papers on the talk come to mind as well as class discussions preceding and following the keynote address and roundtable discussions.
I look forward to seeing you at these events. Please be sure to RSVP at www.barry.edu/foundersweek/registration
Please forward this memo to the faculty/staff in your respective areas. Thank you.
Provost, Barry University
