Hunter Osceola is the first player to sign with Barry University in the 2014 men's basketball recruiting class.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University men's basketball coach Butch Estes announced the signing of Hunter Osceola as his first recruit in the 2014 class.

Osceola, a 6-foot, 165-pound point guard at American Heritage High School in Plantation, Fla., is the first recruit to sign with Barry for the 2014-15 season.

"We are very happy that Hunter Osceola will be coming to Barry U," Estes said. "This league is full of good players and especially guards. He will give us depth at this critical position. Hunter is very versatile, and has the benefits of being well-coached at a young age and coming from a winning program."

Osceola is the 101st-rated guard in the country and 46-ranked player in Florida by ESPN Recruiting Nation. He is the 69th-rated player in the state by Florida Hoops, and the 20th-ranked player by Source Hoops

Osceola helped American Heritage win its season opener, 92-69, over Fort Lauderdale Archbishop McCarthy.

He spent his sophomore year at Hollywood Christian High School in Hollywood, Fla., and his junior season at Northeast High in Oakland Park, Fla.
