Submissions are soon to be solicited for two awards – the Sr. Jeanne O’Laughlin, OP, Scholar’s Award and the Outstanding Faculty Member Award – both of which include a $1,000 prize and will be presented during the annual Communiqué and Faculty Awards Reception. In cases where an applicant submits for both awards in the same submission cycle, he/she will be eligible to win only one of the awards for that year. Submission cycle is between March 1, 2013 and February 28, 2014. Submission details coming soon!
- TheBarry University Sr. Jeanne O’Laughlin, OP, Scholar’s Award is a prestigious award that is presented annually in recognition of exceptional scholarly performance at Barry University. Full-time faculty who have taught at least four years full-time at Barry University prior to the application deadline are eligible for the Sr. Jeanne O’Laughlin, OP, Scholar’s Award. The recipient will receive a $1000 cash award along with inclusion of his/her name on the Sr. Jeanne O’Laughlin Plaque. Deans, associate deans, assistant deans, and full-time faculty members who are on administrative contracts are eligible for the Sr. Jeanne O’Laughlin, OP, Scholar’s Award, provided they have taught at least four years part-time (i.e., 3-6 credits/semester) in addition to their administrative responsibilities at Barry University prior to the application deadline. Once an individual has received this award, he/she is ineligible to reapply.
- TheBarry University Outstanding Faculty Member Award recognizes the professional accomplishments of a faculty member at Barry University for the academic year (from October 1 of the previous year through September 30 of the fall semester in which nominations are received). Full-time faculty who have taught at least two years full-time at Barry University prior to the application deadline are eligible for the Outstanding Faculty Member Award. A recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award is not eligible to reapply for a period of five years. The recipient will receive a $1000 cash award along with a plaque. Deans, associate deans, and assistant deans are ineligible for the Outstanding Faculty Member Award.
