MIAMI -- Barry University women's tennis team spent a day giving back to the community in a service project.
The Buccaneers pitched in at nearby Gratigny Elementary School, doing landscape work and cleaning the school. Barry cleaned inside the school and the entrance area. The team also peformed outside work duties, spreading mulch around the grass and sidewalk areas.
Senior captain Akemi Maehama helped spearhead the community service initiatives of the Buccaneers team.
