ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis team beat Eckerd, 6-0, in a rain-shortened match Saturday. The win bumped the No. 3 Buccaneers' record to 7-0 overall, 6-0 in the Sunshine State Conference entering Sunday's battle with No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic.

The Bucs and defending NCAA Division II National Champion Pirates will meet at 10 a.m. Sunday at IMG Academy in Bradenton.

Barry swept the doubles with a slight reshuffling of the lineup. Anaeve Pain and Kimmy Twelker, playing at No. 1 pairs in this one, beat Gipson Hawn and Emily Fridrik, 8-1. Isabela Miro and Karina Goia defeated Erika Fridrik and Carson Trapp, 8-1, at No. 2 doubles. Elisabeth Abanda and Akemi Maehama were 8-2 winners over Katie Benn and Amy Naula at No. 3 pairs.

Only the top three singles matches were completed due to the rain.

Barry's 31st-ranked Linda Fritschken blanked Hawn, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 singles. Ranked No. 9, Abanda was an easy 6-0, 6-0 winner over Trapp at No. 2. Twelker rolled over Erika Fridrik, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles.
