Barry PhD Student gives TEDx talk in Cayman Islands

Barry University counseling PHD student Taylor Burrowes spoke at a TEDx event at Seven Mile Beach in the Cayman Islands on April 3. The theme of the event was “Connecting to Possibility.” Burrowes's lecture, titled “A Bucket, Me, and Synergy,” offered a theory that explores systemic ideas to resolving global issues at a local level.

Burrowes's lecture is archived and available for viewing at the TEDx SevenMileBeach site.

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations, and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences.

Burrowes is the second member of the Barry community to be featured at a TEDx event. Sister Pat Siemen of the Barry Law School in Orlando was a speaker at a TEDx Jacksonville in October 2013. Siemen’s lecture is archived and available for viewing.
