MIAMI, Fla. -- Barry University is the latest Florida institution of higher learning to join the Complete Florida partnership to offer online degree programs for adults who have earned some college credit but stopped out before earning a degree. The partnership is the result of Barry’s School of Professional and Career Education’s (PACE) focus on meeting the needs of adult learners.

Complete Florida is a legislatively funded initiative designed to recruit, recover and retain Florida adults who have stopped out of college and assist them in completing a degree that is aligned to high-wage, high-skill workforce needs. Led by the University of West Florida’s Innovation Institute and funded by the Florida Legislature, Complete Florida offers more than 50 fully online, flexible and accelerated degree programs and certificates.

Barry currently offers two options though the Complete Florida initiative. Adult learners can obtain a B.S. in Emergency Management or a certificate in Safety, Function, Action for Disaster Responders. Both programs are sponsored through PACE.

A unique aspect of Complete Florida is that students who register for classes will have access to a personal advisor.  Known as a Complete Florida Coach, these advisors will assist students in finding out which programs best align with their life experiences and busy schedule.

The Complete Florida initiative was created to provide adult learners with a single point of access to information and links to innovative online and accelerated distance learning courses, student and library support services, and electronic resources that will guide them toward the successful completion of a post-secondary degree. Currently, eleven institutions in Florida are partnering in Complete Florida. Barry is one of five private institutions to join the partnership.

Scholarships and financial aid opportunities are available for qualified students. For additional information on Complete Florida, visit their website at http://completeflorida.org/ and Barry’s page at http://completeflorida.org/programs-barry.aspx.
