Svensson Moves On To US Amateur Match Play

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- Barry University junior golfer Adam Svensson advanced to the US Amateur Golf Round of 64 Match Play Wednesday.
 
Svensson, of Surrey, British Columbia, shot even par 69-74 -- 143 on the 7496-yard Atlanta Athletic Club Monday and Tuesday to tie for 32nd in stroke play. He advances to match play to meet Zachary Olsen of Cordova, Tenn., at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday.
 
Coverage begins at 4 p.m. on the Golf Channel.
 
Barry University head coach Jimmy Stobs is caddying for Svensson in the prestigious amateur event.
 
Lee McCoy and Taylor Moore each shot 8-under 135 in the opening two rounds of stroke play to find themselves at the top of the leaderboard.
