EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- Barry University's volleyball team swept host East Stroudsburg, 25-16, 26-24, 25-13, at the East Stroudsburg Invitational Saturday. The Bucs also swept Pace in its final match at the tournament, 25-11, 25-19, 25-12.

Barry went 4-0 at the weekend tournament, and will return home Friday with a 7-1 record.

Tashalyn Begon had nine kills and a .533 attack percentage. Jasmine Serna had 20 assists, Katie Dooley six kills and three blocks while hitting .385, and Jayla Trombley six kills and seven digs. Brittany Jaco had 10 digs.

The Buccaneers outblocked the Warriors, 7-3, marking the fifth time this year Barry has put up a bigger block at the net than its opponent.

Nine Bucs recorded at least one kill in the match. East Stroudsburg's Desiree Claxton and Abby Welch each had seven kills.

Against Pace, Barry hit .357, while Pace was held to -.033 after committing 22 errors with 19 kills. The Buccaneers had 35 kills and five errors.

Victoria Fajardo paced the Bucs with 11 kills and a .611 attack percentage. She also had nine digs. Laine Cielena had eight kills and five blocks, while hitting .471. Ivana Didanovic had five kills and five blocks, and hit .400, and Trombley seven kills and a .333 attack percentage.

Barry outblocked Pace, 8-1. Haley Cain had five kills for the Setters.

Jenny Trinidad had 15 assists, and Jaco had 13 digs. Serna had four aces and 10 assists. 

The Bucs host Eckerd in the Sunshine State Conference opener 7 p.m. Friday at the Health & Sports Center on Barry's campus. Barry hosts Rollins at 4 p.m. Saturday.
