Men's Golf: Svensson Ties for 4th in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas -- Barry University's Adam Svensson shot 6-under 207 at the Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic to finish tied for fourth in a 19-player field of top college players.

The junior from Surrey Vancouver, B.C., shot 70-68-69 in the two-day tournament featuring some of the nation's top players primarily from NCAA Division I institutions. New Mexico's Gavin Green won with a 14-under 71-62-66 -- 199 on the 6,889-yard El Paso Country Club course. 

Svensson eagled the par-5, 547-yard 13th hole in Saturday's opening round. The only player to eagle that hole in the three rounds, Svensson had 12 birdies in the 54-hole event. Green had 17 birdies and one eagle. 

UCLA's Jonathan Garrick and Rico Hoey of Southern California tied for second at 7-under 206. Stanford's David Boote matched Svensson's 6-under 207.
