Now Offering the Adult Literacy Certificate Program

The Adrian Dominican School of Education is pleased to offer the Adult Literacy Certificate. The graduate certificate program is for students who wish to become highly-qualified literacy professionals to teach secondary, college, and adult learners.  This program is designed for those who hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Adult Literacy Certificate Program consists of four Barry University graduate reading/literacy courses that cover topics such as the sociocultural and socio-political issues pertaining to literacy, teaching strategies to improve vocabulary and comprehension, research-based diagnostic-prescriptive procedures, and the organization and implementation of corrective instruction in vocabulary, word attack, comprehension, and study strategies.

The Adrian Dominican School of Education is now accepting applications for the Fall 2015 semester.
