ADSOE hosts 5th Annual ADMMF Conference

The Barry University Adrian Dominican School of Education recently played host to the 5th Annual Andrew and Dora McGhee Montessori Foundation (ADMMF) Montessori Parent and Teacher Education Days event on January 23 and 24.

Montessori educators and parents gathered for professional development opportunities andto network and share ideas related to the Montessori philosophy of teaching and learning. In all, nearly 600 participants attended this year’s event which re-emphasized the importance of professional development of teachers and the education of parents to build successful partnerships.

Six faculty members from ADSOE served as presenters at the event including Montessori Programs DirectorAlan Koesten. Barry’s other presenters were: Emilie Ney, PhD; Javier Gonzalez, PhD; Luis Conde, PhD; and Lilia DiBello, EdD. In addition to Barry’s faculty presenters, two graduate students, Laura Monsalvatge and Kris Long, presented as well.
