PACE student honored for saving child’s life

Barry University PACE student Robert Morgan was part of a team of lifeguards honored recently for saving the life of a child who nearly drowned at a waterpark on Sunday, April 5.

While dozens of families were enjoying the day at T.Y. Park in Hollywood, the young boy was suddenly found face down and motionless in a lagoon activity pool. Morgan, who is training to be a paramedic at Barry's School of Professional and Career Education, was one of the first lifeguards on the scene and assisted a team that performed CPR on the child until the ambulance arrived.

The boy regained consciousness and was loaded into the paramedic van. He was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital where he was in stable condition. He has since made a full recovery.
