The Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine’s Diabetes Club was recently awarded the Rising Star Award for their volunteer and fundraising efforts.
Bill Parker, Chairman of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation One Walk presented the award to the members of the Diabetes Club who raised almost $2,000 dollars for Type 1 Diabetes Research.
The members of the Diabetes Club also held the first ever Foot Screening at a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation One Walk event.
First year students are shown performing routine foot examinations on the participants of the walk.
