Barry University DNP with a Specialization in Anesthesiology alumna, Lois Krug, DNP, CRNA had her research article titled, Changing the Endotracheal Tube Taping Practice: An Evidence-Based Practice Project accepted for publication by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Journal.
The purpose of Dr. Krug’s evidence-based quality improvement practice project was to increase the anesthesia provider's knowledge and awareness of the taping practice for securing the endotracheal tube that increases the patient's exposure to pathogens and the risk of nosocomial infections.
Dr. Krug was a DNP student at Barry University when this project was implemented. Her scholarly project mentors were Melissa D. Machan, DNP, CRNA and Jose Villalba, MD.
