Join the Library this November in celebrating our freedom to read

The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library invites the Barry community to display titled: Banned Books: Celebrating our Freedom to Read.

Dates: November 1 – 30, 2015
Location: Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library, main entrance

Every year, hundreds of libraries and bookstores around the country mount displays of banned and challenged books to draw attention to the problem of censorship. This tradition began in 1982, as a response to a sudden surge in the number of book challenges across America. This November, Banned Books: Celebrating Our Freedom to Read displays a selection of books from the Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library collections that have been banned or challenged over the years.
