Students, alumni, faculty, and staff from Barry University’s School of Professional and Career Education (PACE) recently attended the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Justice and Equality Coalition celebration. The guest speaker was civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump.

Crump’s cases have been at the head of minority rights and questionable police tactics in recent years. These include the Ferguson, Missouri family of Michael Brown and the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition works to highlight the achievements and legacy of the slain civil rights leaders through outreach and public events.
