Social Work students at the 2015 Human Trafficking Summit

The Center for Human Rights and Social Justice in collaboration with Prof. Sambra Zaoui at the Barry University School of Social Work offered 12fellowships to Social Work students to participate in the 2015 Human Trafficking Summit this past month. Students had the opportunity to learn about prevention, intervention, policy, and advocacy associated with human trafficking and learned concrete ways to be a part of Florida’s efforts to eradicate human trafficking and modern day slavery.

Fellowship recipients will be expected to lead a human rights activity, which is focused on addressing human trafficking within the 6 months following attendance at the summit.

Upcoming Events:

The Center will host a concert to “STAND UP FOR HOPE” benefiting Human Trafficking Awareness and Education on January 21, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Barry University. For more information on updates or how to be a sponsor for this event, please contact Professor Sambra Zaoui at szaoui@barry.edu.
