Barry University Ranked Among Top Value Counseling Master's Degrees in Florida

Barry University has been ranked among the top value master's degrees in counseling in Florida by Top Counseling Schools.

This ranking was created using the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) to acquire lists of the accredited counseling degrees available in each state. The top eight programs in Florida were ranked based on the following: program completion rate; job placement rate; licensing exam pass rate; accreditation length; research productivity; and tuition and fees.

Barry University is a student-centered university that celebrates its Catholic, Dominican identity, while welcoming students and faculty of all faith traditions. Founded in 1940, Barry has grown into a mid-sized university that is one of the leading centers for education in South Florida.

“This ranking as a top value counseling program is a testament to Barry's academic excellence and affordability,” said Barry University President Sister Linda Bevilacqua, OP, PhD. “The faculty and staff at the Adrian Dominican School of Education are preparing caring, ethical, and highly skilled professional educators and counselors to teach and work in a wide range of culturally diverse learning environments.”

Barry University's Department of Counseling is committed to providing its counseling students with a multicultural educational environment and curriculum. Whether they choose to study Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marital, Couple, Family Counseling or School Counseling, Barry students are able to develop their sensitivity and empathy for all peoples at the Dr. Maureen Duffy Family Enrichment Center, an on-site clinic devoted to the needs of the community. Unlike those students who are forced to seek internships to round out their top graduate degrees in counseling, Barry students gain hands-on experience in the field without ever leaving campus.
