SURVIVING THE HOLOCAUST

Last Fall, The Center for Human Rights and Social Justice hosted an interview with Helga Melmed, a Holocaust Survivor. Moderated by Dr. Heidi LaPorte, Helga talked about her experiences, the meaning of important relationships she forged after the tragic loss of both of her parents, and how they sustained her even after being deported to Auschwitz, the most notorious death camp in Germany.

Her story is one of resilience, hope and a desire for peace. It is more than an appeal for the world to remember those who perished, but a plea to ensure that horrific crimes driven by incremental hatred against any group due to religion, race, sexual orientation, gender identification or any other reason, never be repeated.
