Barry student awarded Sheridan National Allied Health Scholarship

Ying Zaw, a Barry University anesthesiology student, is among the winners of this year’s Sheridan National Allied Health (NAH) Scholarship for Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists (SRNAs). The scholarship recognizes individual SRNAs for exemplary clinical and leadership skills at the national level.

Applicants must have completed 12 months of a full-time, accredited anesthesiology program in the U.S. by May 31, 2017, and must be nominated by their program director, academic faculty Instructor or clinical coordinator. Applicants must also have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and submit an essay on their decision to choose anesthesiology as a profession.

Winners will be officially announced at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Annual Congress in September.

Zaw, who Program Director Dr. Rebecca Lee called an exemplary and dedicated student, is in the West Palm Beach cohort and is expected to graduate in May 2018.
