Celebrate the holiday of Sukkot, Oct. 13-20

Campus Ministry invites the Barry community to celebrate the joyous Jewish holiday of Sukkot, October 13-20. Sukkot is celebrated by dwelling in the succah, a greenery-covered hut, and the taking of the four kinds of vegetation, the lulav and etrog.

By exposing ourselves to the elements in the succah, the holiday commemorates G-d sheltering our ancestors as they traveled from Egypt to the Land of Israel. The four kinds of vegetation express unity and belief in G-d’s omnipresence. Occurring after the solemn High Holidays of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, it is a time of joy and happiness.

The Succah
