“In Memory of Lois and Eunice: Handing on a Living Tradition of Faith”

Location: Andreas Building, Room 112

This lecture will draw on Yves Congar’s understanding of “Tradition and traditions” and his influence on the Second Vatican Council. It will highlight the responsibility of the entire Church to hand on the living tradition of Christian faith. Particular attention will be given to women’s participation in the prophetic office of the baptized.

Mary Catherine Hilkert, OP, PhD is Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame. She is a former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America. Dr. Hilkert is a member of the Dominican Sisters of Peace (Order of Preachers).
