MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Katrina Molfetta of the Barry University women’s soccer team earned First-Team Capital One Academic All-South Region ® for her excellence on the field, in the community but most importantly in the classroom.
Molfetta played in 14 games, starting nine, as the Bucs went 6-10-0, 3-5-0 in the Sunshine State Conference. She played in both the midfield and defensive thirds, contributing three assists.
A sophomore nursing major with a 3.93 GPA, she was named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) in the fall semester and made the Dean's List (3.5-3.999 GPA) in the Spring semester. She was named to the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
First-team Academic All-Region® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
The Capital One Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2011-12 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.
