WINTER PARK, Fla.--Barry senior forward Yvonne Houston has claimed the final SSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award of the season.
Houston averaged 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steal in a pair of victories that helped the Buccaneers secure a share of the SSC regular-season title. Opening the week with a 71-66 win over fellow co-champion Rollins, Houston posted 20 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. She then tallied 23 points and two rebounds in a 71-51 victory over Saint Leo. In two contests, Houston shot 53 percent (17-for-32) from the field, 40 percent (4-for-10) from three-point range, and 83 percent (5-for-6) at the free throw line.
The Bucs, who were relegated to the third seed in the SSC Tournament after tie-breaking procedures, will host the sixth-seeded Florida Tech Panthers on Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 7:00 pm in the Health & Sports Center.
