EATONTON, Ga. -- Barry is right where it wants to be entering the final day.
The Buccaneers men's golf team has a three-stroke lead after two rounds of the Bobcat Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia College. Barry, ranked No. 3 in the Golf Coaches/Nike poll, leads Sunshine State Conference neighbor Nova Southeastern after 36 holes at The Golf Club at Cuscowilla.
Barry shot 274-280 -- 554 on the opening day. Nova shot 283-274 -- 557.
Barry's Marcus Segerstrom dazzled in the first two rounds, shooting 65-66 for a 9-under 131 on the par-70, 6,847-yard course to take a three-stroke lead over Lynn's Daniel Young into Tuesday's final round. His 65 tied the school record for low round.
Nova Southeastern's Ben Taylor, West Florida's Carlos Rodriguez and Armstrong Atlantic's Tilton are tied for third at 135.
Three Buccaneers shot under par in the opening round. Scott Smyers shot 69-71, and is tied for 16th at even par 140. Marcelo Huarte is in a three-way tie for 20th in the 90-player field after shooting 68-73 -- 141. Daniel Stapff shot 72-70 -- 142, and sits in a seven-way tie for 23rd.
Barry's Simon Forsslund shot 73-75 -148.
Armstrong Atlantic is third at 563, nine strokes behind the Buccaneers.
