WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry University freshman Daniela Murray was named the Sunshine State Conference women's golf Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office.
Murray (Sao Paulo, Brazil) shot a personal-best 74 to open the Hargett Memorial Invitational hosted by Wingate last week. She shared the first-round lead.
Murray closed the tournament with a 79, finishing second as Barry won the event.
It was her first top 10 finish in this her first year of college golf. Murray also has an 11th place finish, which she recorded a week earlier.
Barry's women's team will host a three-team triangular meet Friday and Saturday at Parkland Golf Club. The tournament is a two-round format.
