BRADENTON, Fla. -- Barry University men's golf team is in sixth place after two rounds of the Florida Blue Sunshine State Conference Championships at The Concession Golf Club.
The No. 1-ranked Buccaneers 306-301 -- 607 in the first two rounds Monday on the par-72, 7,474-yard course considered the fourth-best course in Florida by Golf Digest. Barry trails leader Nova Southeastern, which shot a 3-over 579 on the first day, by 28 strokes.
Florida Tech and Florida Southern are tied for second at 598.
Nova's Oscar Lengden shot 2-under 142 over the first 36 holes to take a one-stroke lead over teammate Mitch Farrer and Eckerd's Callum Georgallides entering Tuesday's final round. Lynn's Marcelo Rozo is at 1-over 145, and Rollins' Tyler Sluman entered the clubhouse at 2-over to round out the top five.
Barry's Marcus Segerstrom shot 6-over 150, and is 15th. Bucs teammate Simon Forsslund is 18th at 153. Scott Smyers is a stroke back at 154. Danny Stapff is tied for 24th at 155, and Marcelo Huarte tied for 29th at 156.
