MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University men's tennis team will open the NCAA Tournament Saturday at Lynn University in the regional.

The No. 3 Bucs (21-5) will play Valdosta State (10-9) in the first round.

Barry, seeded third in the South Region, beat sixth-seeded Valdosta State earlier this season. Valdosta State beat Barry in the national championship last year.

No. 2 seed Lynn (18-3) will open with Florida Southern (13-11). The first round winners will meet for the region title and a right to move onto the Round of 16 in Louisville May 16.

The Buccaneers, coming off a Sunshine State Conference championship win over Lynn Saturday, won the national title two years ago.

Barry split with No. 4-ranked Lynn in the two matches this year. The Buccaneers are 7-1 in neutral site matches and 3-2 on the road this year. The Bucs are 11-4 against ranked teams this year.
