Barry Women's Tennis Hosts NCAA Regional

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis team will open the NCAA Tournament against Tuskegee at Buccaneer Tennis Center.

The regional will begin Sunday at noon.

No. 2 ranked Barry (22-0) is the top seed in the South Region, and will host a four-team regional, featuring Rollins and Saint Leo. Tuskegee (12-13) is the No. 8 seed. Fourth-seeded Rollins (13-10) plays fifth-seeded Saint Leo (17-7) in the first round at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The two winners will meet for the region title at 9 a.m. Monday to move onto the Round of 16 in Louisville, Ky., May 16. The national championship is scheduled for May 19.

The Buccaneers are the defending national champs. Barry is 12-0 at Buccaneer Tennis Center this year.

Barry beat Saint Leo, 5-4, earlier this season. The Bucs beat Rollins twice this year.
