WINTER PARK, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers placed six on the All-Sunshine State Conference softball team, announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Five of the six landed on the First-Team, led by outfielder Grace Collins. Collins led the team hitting .370 with 31 runs and 29 stolen bases. It was her second straight First-Team selection.
The left side of the infield both earned spots on the First-Team. Third baseman Sarah Broeseker led the team with 14 doubles and four homers, hitting .337 with 28 RBI out of her leadoff spot. Shortstop Natalia Ojeda hit .330 with 26 runs scored and led the team with 20 walks for a .447 on-base percentage. She also led the team with 92 assists.
Jessica Tabor earned her fourth straight season on the all-conference team as the designated player. She hit .316 with 22 RBI. She was Second-Team DP as a freshman, Second-Team at first base as a sophomore and First-Team at first base as a junior.
Brianna Smith was named as the utility player after starting 26 games in the circle, nine in leftfield and 10 at DP. She went 22-5 with a league-best 15 shutouts in the circle, posting a 1.15 ERA in 183.1 innings and held the opponents to a .192 average. As a hitter, she batted .295 with six doubles, two triples and three homers and drove in 25 runs.
Outfielder Alyssa Goldsmith made the Second-Team after hitting .338 with 12 doubles, three homers and a team-best 33 RBI.
