MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University has waited and travelled for a month for the opportunity to play when it counts at home.

That time has arrived.

Barry's volleyball team will host Lynn at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Buccaneers' home opener at Health & Sports Center. The Bucs (6-4, 1-1 Sunshine State Conference) are coming off a split on the road to open conference play over the weekend. Barry beat Saint Leo before falling to Florida Southern.

Lynn comes to Miami Shores with an 8-1 overall, 1-1 SSC record, after also losing to FSC.

Lynn's Brittany Brown has 80 kills, while starting in all nine matches. Lizzy Raffa is one kill behind her. Abby Brokop has 184 assists, and Mandy McIntosh has 113. Brianna Cox has 42 blocks, and Michelle Jordan has 105 digs.

Barry's Tania Torres leads the Bucs with 118 kills, starting in all 10 matches. Ashley Carrero has 86. Mima Hajdukovic has 345 assists, and now ranks 10th all-time in school history with 1,062.

Laine Cielena has 33 blocks, and Jasmine Serna leads the Buccaneers with 164 digs.

Barry is averaging 11.92 kills per set, while its opponents are putting away 12.57 per set this season. The Fighting Knights are averaging 12.5 kills per set, and giving up 8.53. The Bucs have 55 aces, compared to the opposition's 63. Lynn has 76 aces, while its opponents have served up 39.

Barry has 520 digs this season. Lynn has dug 363 balls this year.

SIDEOUTS: Barry will honor all of its student-athletes who received a grade point average of 3.2 or better during the Spring semester of 2012. Barry, a school which prides itself on performing in the classroom as well as on the playing surface, honors student-athletes who receive President's List (4.0), Dean's List (3.5-3.999) or Athletic Director's List (3.2-3.499) distinction each semester.

All student-athletes who received President's List honors in the spring will be honored between the second and third sets of Tuesday's match. All other scholar student-athletes will be able to pick up their academic accomplishments certificates in the HSC lobby following the match.
