Summer 2005

Location: Miami Shores, Florida

Research mentor: Dr. Jeremy Montague

Project details: Dune vegetation assay and plant biomonitoring done at Crandon Park. This project fits into the dunegrass restoration project. The goal of the project is to develop a plan for beach reclamation, and it will involve several stages. The first stage is assessing the condition of the beach itself. A taxonimc key will be developed cataloguing native and invasice species. The next stage involves upgrading the beach’s condition by increasing habitat stability, using plants for beach reclamation.
