Robin Chard had an article published in the November, 2000 issue of AORN titled, "A Phenomelologic Study of How Perioperative Nurses Perceive Their Work World."
Dr. Jessie Colin and Barbara Rostock's paper "Vision to Action: Building a Personal and Political Power Base" has been accepted for presentation at the Twelfth International Conference on College Teaching and Learning to be held in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jo Ann Gottlieb will be presenting a poster, "A Post-Modern Approach to Facilitating Lifestyle Changes in a Mexican American Migrant Worker," at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in March and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Conference in Orlando in June.
Marcia Hacker has been appointed to the Research Committee of the National Association of Medical-Surgical Nurses. This committee is responsible for regional and national research conferences throughout the year.
Daniel Little will present the keynote speech on the changing image of the professional nurse at the National Association for Peri-Anesthesia Nursing in Boston in April.
Dr. Linda Perkel and Marcia Hacker's paper, "Moving the Cheese: The Process of Developing and Implementing a Community-Based Curriculum" was presented at the AACN Baccalaureate Education Conference in Chicago in December.
Claudette Spalding is presenting on the importance of spirituality in nursing education and Dr. Shirley Schantz will present a paper on the Primary Care Nursing Center at the SREB Council on Collegiate Nursing Education in April in Savannah, Georgia. Spalding is giving two presentations at the "Health Care in A Complex World: An International Research Conference" in May in Toronto, Canada, titled "Spirituality and Nursing Education" and "Preterm Labor Compliance in Adolescents."
Debbie Nogueras has had an article, "Asthma, Focus on Children" accepted for publication in the February 26 edition of the peer reviewed journal Advance for Nurses Serving Florida. She is also a copresenter of a poster, "From Art to Clinical Practice--21st Century HIV/AIDS Knowledge and Skills for Primary Care Nurse Practitioners" at the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Conference in Orlando in June and is presenting a poster, "Teaching Ethical Decision Making to Sophomore Nursing Students," at MCP Hanneman Nursing Education 2001 in Philadelphia in June.
Dr. Joyce Washington has been elected to the year 2001 Nominating Committee of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). She is one of five members who represent CCNE's constituent programs and who have diverse backgrounds. Her term is for one year. |
