Dr. Peter Buerhaus Keynoting March 15th Research Day

The Lambda Chi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing is sponsoring the 10th Annual Research Day. The conference "Nursing Prepares for Global Challenges in Healthcare: Services, Supplies, Research and Education" will be held on March 15, 2001 at the Signature Grand in Plantation, Florida.

Dr. Peter Buerhaus, Ph.D., RN, will be the keynote speaker. He is currently Professor of Nursing and Associate Dean of Nursing Research at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Buerhaus is a world-renowned expert on the nursing shortage and is widely published in nursing and non-nursing journals and consumer publications on his research findings related to nursing and the nursing shortage. Dr. Buerhaus will be offering a focus group/discussion with nursing executives/leaders in the morning and will provide another focus group/discussion with advance practice nurses in the afternoon. The focus of the conference is nursing research and applications to practice, education, leadership and administration.
