Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Traditional Option
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program takes five semesters to complete following acceptance after meeting all admission requirements. Upon admission to the program, you will study a contemporary curriculum that is designed to prepare you for professional nursing practice. This program is grounded in community based education with educational opportunities that provide a variety of healthcare delivery experiences.
Upon completion of the BSN program, you will be prepared to practice in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, schools, community clinics, public health services and home health settings.
Becoming a Licensed Registered Nurse
Once you have completed the program, you will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Licensure obtained after passing the exam, along with other stipulations (see RN Licensure) allows you to practice nursing in any state throughout the United States.

The Division of Nursing at Barry University is fortunate to have an agreement with Baptist Health South Florida that offers Traditional BSN students, who are admitted to this option, a scholarship in exchange for an employment commitment upon graduation.
