Your Computer

your computer

A computer with certain software and other requirements is expected of all new graduate students on enrollment in the program. Undergraduate students in the RN to BSN program are required to own a computer or have access to a computer meeting specifications set by the school when you begin your first nursing course. Students are also required to have high speed Internet access.

While you have the choice of purchasing a notebook or desktop PC, a notebook is strongly recommended because it gives you the capability of accessing university resources wherever you may be, and you can take it to class and clinical sites. This website is to advise you of the specific Computer Requirement within the Division of Nursing for graduate students..

The Division of Nursing and Barry’s Division of Information Technology (DoIT) have worked with Dell to create a special academic notebook and desktop PC package for Barry University students, and for reasons of compatibility and support, we highly recommend that all students purchase one of these bundles.

If you choose not to use the Barry/Dell standard, your computer must conform to minimum configuration specifications to meet the university computer requirement and provide you with the access you need in your courses. Macintosh is not a supported system and should not be purchased.

Should you have any questions, feel free to contact the DoIT support desk at 305-899-3604, or via e-mail at helpdesk@mail.barry.edu.
