The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education, and the PhD in Nursing programs were developed on the faculty’s belief that graduate education advances professional nursing practice and health care delivery by building on the existing foundation of baccalaureate nursing education. The mission of the Division of Nursing is to prepare professional nurses well grounded in nursing scientific knowledge who can assume positions in academe, healthcare institutions, or research settings.
We at Barry University, College of Health Sciences, Division of Nursing, pride ourselves in our history and accomplishments as a Catholic institution of higher education, and as a multicultural university, which values its’ diversity and global world view. The Division of Nursing prides itself on academic excellence and nursing scholarship by promoting inquiry, generating and utilizing research, and selecting theoretical knowledge that are compatible with our professional values and practices. We promote social justice through teaching, research and service. Inquiry is paramount to competence in professional practice and life long learning. The unique focal area of our inquiry is multicultural health.
