Is the GRE exam required for admission?
We do require candidates to submit their GRE scores, although no minimum scores is required.
Is an on-line kinesiology course acceptable?
We do not recommend on-line kinesiology courses. A course that allows you to perform the skills hands-on in the classroom will provide you a better foundation for the program’s coursework.
What is the time frame for completing the program pre-requisites?
All pre-requisites for admission must be completed prior to the start of the program in the fall. However, you may apply to the program if a course is in progress and expected to be completed before the deadline. The Kinesiology pre-requisite course is required to have been taken within 5 years of application date.
Is the fieldwork portion of the program also completed on the weekends?
There are two levels of fieldwork required in the program (level I and level II). Level I fieldwork experiences involve 3 x three days of observation at clinical sites. Level II fieldwork experiences consist of 2 x12 weeks of full time practice at designated placements. Both types of fieldwork experiences are completed during regular week days business hours
Is there housing available or where do weekend students stay?
The university has housing available. You would need to contact the Housing office to discuss availability. In addition, the university offers special rates for local hotels which some students often use during the weekend stay
Is my bachelor’s from another country acceptable?
Only degrees from national or international accredited institutions are accepted.
Does Barry offer the Anatomy & Physiology courses?
Barry offers Anatomy and Physiology courses through the Biomedical Sciences Program.
How many observation hours are needed?
The required pre-requisite observation hours should be equivalent of a one week observation period (~ 40 hrs). Hours do not necessarily have to be consecutive or at the same facility.
