The Center for Dominican Studies invites you to attend:
“Doing Good and Becoming Holy: Morality, Spirituality and the Common Good”

Presented by:
Charles Bouchard, OP, STD
President of Aquinas Institute of Theology
Saint Louis, MO

Thursday, February 5
7:00 – 9:00 pm

Andreas, Room 111
Barry University
Miami Shores, FL

Bouchard has served as president of Aquinas Institute since 1989 and as associate professor of Systematic (Moral) Theology since 1986. His academic interests include the mission of Catholic health care. He is also interested in “how Catholics remain true to their tradition while living in a society that is growing more and more pluralistic.”

In his faculty biography, he remarks, “My greatest joy is in teaching moral theology, where I can help students see that morality is not just a question of ‘doing what you're told,’ but rather a creative act whereby we ‘make something of ourselves’ and develop virtues that make us good persons. The biggest surprise for most students is that Catholic morality is a search for happiness!”

His recent texts include, “Preaching, Piety and Public Life: The Dominican Charism in Higher Education” and "Wind in our Sails: The Gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Moral Life."

Admission to this event is free with a Barry ID card. A $10 donation is suggested for other members of the community. Donations help ensure the Center’s ability to offer presentations of this nature.

Free parking is available in the lot on the west side of North Miami Avenue between Northeast 111th and 115th streets. Additional parking is available on the south side of 115th Street.
