HIV / AIDS Awareness
December 2, 2002 was HIV/AIDS Awareness day at
Barry University with two events happening on campus. The CDS sponsored
a panel discussion for students, faculty, and staff in Thompson
Hall lobby. The speakers and topics were as follows:
- Mrs. Eileen Hineline, RN, “The Science
of the Virus and Pandemic”
- Fr. Dennis Rausch, “HIV/AIDS Ministry
in the Miami Area”
- Dr. Mary Jo Iozzio, “Church Supported
Prevention Methods”
- Fr. David G. Caron, OP, D.Min., “The
Spiritual Response to the Virus”
Also, a panel of the Name’s Project AIDS
Memorial Quilt was on display in Cor Jesu Chapel for a week.
