Preacher's Workshop for the Ordained
“Catholic Christians and Money: Trends, Tips and Tools for Preaching Stewardship”
Preaching Workshop for the Ordained, Fall 2007
The First Preaching Workshop for the Ordained was held at two parishes in Southeast Florida to make attendance more convenient for residents in Miami-Dade and Broward counties and to increase outreach on the important topic of stewardship. The workshops were held on Monday, September 24 at St. John Neumann Parish Center in Miami, FL, and on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Parish Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
The workshop, sponsored for the Center for Dominican Studies, helped participants incorporate use of the scriptures, tradition, stewardship, and the latest business trends to equip their parishioners to be faithful stewards of the financial resources God has entrusted to them. Participants at the workshop:
- discussed some of the obstacles to a parish spirituality of stewardship;
- received resources for preaching stewardship;
- learned how to apply best-practices in development to parish life; and
- revisted the integrity of the gospel message of Christian stewardship.
