Curriculum and Instruction Teams Present at FLAEYC

The Adrian Dominican School of Education Curriculum and Instruction Department shares expertise at the Annual Conference of the Florida Association for the Education of Young Children (FLAEYC) in Orlando this past September.

Curriculum and Instruction graduate and doctoral students, doctoral alumni, and faculty collaborated to expand their curriculum expertise, content knowledge, pedagogical skills, and teacher leadership and mentoring skills.

The collaboration resulted in a variety of FLAEYC presentations:

“Nurturing Children’s Passion for Reading Through Children's Literature and Music” by doctoral alumni, Guerino Terracciano, PhD and faculty Jennie Ricketts-Duncan, PhD

 “Implementation of an Effective Antibullying Program in Kindergarten” by graduate student, Chelsea Rupp

 “Young Mathematicians: Constructing 3-Dimensional Shapes as Aligned with Common Core State Standards (CCSS)” by faculty members Javier Gonzalez, PhD, Luis Conde, PhD and Mehmet Turegun, PhD

 “How to Transform ANY Outdoor Environment into a Learning Center!” by doctoral students, Kris Long, MS and Laura Monsalvatge, MS
